MONDAY will see the official opening of a new boxing club in Flintshire.
Mold ABC will be located at the site of the old ATS garage on Wrexham Road which has seen the venue transform into a fully functioning boxing gym equipped with a ring, male and female showers, and changing rooms.
The boxing club will open its doors officially on Monday (July 17) with the ambition to give children and members of the wider community an opportunity to be champions.
Liverpool businessman Michael Phillips, 38, who's company MJP Evolutions bought the old garage revealed his desire to turn the site into a thriving hub within the Mold community.
"The main idea is for it to be a hub," he said. "It's right in the centre of the town. Eventually, it will grow into a hub where we have loads of different classes and help for people in the community.

"It's all about building confidence from kids and giving them the opportunity. Now, there's different types of opportunities. There's the opportunity to be a champion in boxing, but that's only short-term. We want these kids to go on and be a champion in life."
