FRIENDS of a Flintshire 10-year-old battling Alopecia are set to brave the shave in support of the 'incredible' young man.
James Hamill, from Broughton, was diagnosed with the disease in March of this year and has begun to lose his hair.
The football-mad 10-year-old, who attends Sandycroft Primary School, struggled initially with the diagnosis according to mum Miranda, but has since shown 'unbelievable resilience'.
In support of James, his mum's friend Rhian Harrison, as well as Charlie, a friend from school, are set to shave their heads to raise money for Alopecia UK.
A GoFundMe page was set up by Rhian with a target of £500, has raised over £1,000 already.
The target has been increased to £1,500, with the shave to be completed on Sunday, July 16.

Miranda said: "I can't believe the support, I've got amazing people around me, but there's been messages and donations from complete strangers which is just amazing.
"James is such a selfless little boy, he'd do anything for anyone and these last few months have been horrible.
"He really struggled at first, it was horrendous, but since then he has got on with it and it's just about trying to stop him from worrying about it.
"What Rhian and Charlie are doing is just amazing and will help James so much with his self-esteem."
One of the causes of Alopecia can be linked to stress.
In the past year, Miranda was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and also separated from James' dad.
She believes those events may have had an effect on James' diagnosis, but if so then it would allow for his hair to grow back, something she is desperate to see.
Miranda added: "We're not too sure about what will happen going forward. We're getting different messages each time we see a specialist about what could happen.
"The main thing is just trying to help him through it all, it's been a horrible few months and it could be stress related. Hopefully, it is and that means it could grow back.
"He's a bit worried about starting high school and initially had other kids making comments, but he's been so strong and resilient and just doesn't let it bother him.
"Hopefully Rhian and Charlie shaving their heads can help raise some awareness and will help James through it all."
