NIGHTINGALE House Hospice has raised an incredible £1,279 - and its all from plants.

The hospice held its annual plant sale on July, 4, all the plants being donated by the local community - some through supporters of the hospice who had grown them themselves.

The Leader:

Rhosnesni High School donated plants from their gardening club, all of which were grown from seeds.

Donations also came from Burton and Rossett Horticultural Society, Wrexham Erddig Rotary and local garden centres such as Dobbies, Eastwick and Ferndale.

They also received a beautiful hanging basket from Beaverz Alley which they raffled off.

People came sporadically throughout the day, but an estimated 150 people joined the hospice to show their support.

The Leader:

Last year, the hospice raised just over £1,000, making this year's event a huge success.

Chloe Deacon, hospice fundraising organiser, said: "Every year, we are overwhelmed by the community’s support of the hospice’s plant sale and the lovely people we get to meet on the day.

"The fantastic amount raised this year will, as always, go towards the vital care of our patients and their families. It will make a huge difference to the lives of those we support and will ensure that the services we provide will still be there going forward.

"So, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, met us with a smile, and donated towards such a wonderful cause.”
