It's that time of year when exams are over, and the start of summer marks the end of the school year.
For many Year 11 students across the region, it means a celebration with prom.

It's a chance for youngsters to celebrate the end of GCSEs in style, with gowns and suits the main dress code.

Almost 100 Year 11 students attended their prom at Chester Zoo after being chauffeured to the venue in electric cars.

Judith Bennett, head of Year 11, said: “We said a fond farewell to our wonderful Year 11 students. They have been an outstanding year group, dealing with the adversity of the pandemic with pure grit and determination to succeed.
"The prom at Chester Zoo was the perfect way to celebrate them, and all that they have achieved. The students pulled out all of the stops and looked absolutely sensational.
"The evening went without a hitch, providing the students with some lifelong memories to cherish. We wish them all the best and cannot wait to see what the future holds for each and every one of them.”
