A FLINTSHIRE bakery has achieved a fantastic result in the Welsh Food Awards.

Cravin' in Mold was delighted to finish runner-up and commended in an awards ceremony in the category of 'Dessert Outlet of the Year'.

The Food Awards Wales seek to recognise the hard work and efforts of those committed to providing Wales with the best food highlighting the best restaurants, takeaways, pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes, and bistros.

Despite not taking the crown, owners Luke and Jamie Lee Anderson were thrilled to have come so far in a competition that spanned the whole country.

They said: "Our first year at the Welsh Food Awards and what a huge shock to have come second in the Dessert Outlet of the Year Category across the whole of Wales!

"We honestly didn't expect to be placed, we were just so grateful to have been a finalist! So to be highly commended was a huge achievement for us."

"Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us, it was a great evening and was lovely to network and meet other fantastic businesses."

Cravin' is located in the Daniel Owen precinct and has proved a hit amongst residents with its selections of cakes and treats.

It has already been a memorable year for the bakery, having already scooped the prize for Mold Business of the Year and celebrated four years of business back in March.
