FLINT RNLI is making final preparations for the annual dog show and open day this weekend.

The event, which takes place at Flint lifeboat station on Sunday (July 2) from 10am, will give the public the opportunity to meet RNLI volunteers and view the lifesaving equipment.

The annual RNLI Dog Show starts with registration at 1pm and judging starting at 2pm. The event is for both pedigree and novelty classes; entry is £2 per class or any number of classes £5.

This year’s judge is Tracy Brown, along with guest judge Flint town mayor, Ben Goldsborough, and the show coordinator is Stuart Gunther.

Tracey Kerfoot, Flint RNLI fundraiser, said: "We would like to express our gratitude to Jolleys Flint for their continued sponsorship of the event.

"Alongside the dog show there will be various stalls and refreshments available, including hot and cold drinks, as well as afternoon tea, children’s snack boxes and pizza."

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts.

The RNLI is independent of the Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
