An inquest has opened into the death of a man who was found in bushes down a lane in Wrexham.
John Ithell, of Pentre Gwyn, Wrexham, was found collapsed on a lane adjacent to Cefn Road, Wrexham on Monday, June 12, 2023.
At County Hall in Ruthin on Monday, June 26, the inquest into his death was opened.
It heard that police were alerted to a male that had been located in the bushes on the lane who was unconscious but had a heart rhythm. He was conveyed to hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Mr Ithell, born December 27, 1963, was found to have suffered a fracture to the back of the skull and had brain haemorrhages.
The provisional cause of death was a severe blunt force head injury.
The death is subject to police investigation.
A full inquest will be held at a later date.
