Wrexham has played host to some big-name celebrities over the past few years since Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the city's football club.

The city has adopted Reynolds and McElhenney as their own since helping lead Wrexham AFC back into the English Football League.

Since taking over the club two years ago, fellow A-listers have visited Wrexham including the likes of Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd and Blake Lively. 

But Wrexham has also produced a few big-name celebrities itself. 

From movie stars to a famous footballer, and even a Miss World contestant, here are some of the most famous people to have come out of Wrexham.

Tim Vincent

Born: November 4, 1972

Tim Vincent is best known for his role on Blue Peter from 1993 to 1997. He has also appeared on a number of other television shows including Dangerfield.

Vincent has also presented a number of Miss World contests. 

More recently he has been involved in BBC Radio 4's The Likely Dads.

Mark Hughes

Born: November 1, 1963

Leslie Mark Hughes OBE was born in Ruabon just outside of Wrexham. 

Hughes is a big name in footballing circles as both a player and a coach. 

His senior playing career spanned over 22 years, starting in 1980 before concluding in 2002. 

During that time made 72 appearances for Wales and played for English Premier League Clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, Southampton and Blackburn Rovers. 

He also spent time at European powerhouses Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

His coaching career started with the Wales men's international team in 1999. 

Over the years he has coached teams including his old clubs Rovers and Southampton as well as Manchester City, Fulham and Stoke City. 

He is currently the manager at Bradford City. This is the first time he has coached a club outside the Premier League.

Adrian Holmes

Born: March 31, 1974

Adrian Holmes has appeared in movies such as Skyscraper alongside Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and The Cabin in the Woods, which also featured Thor actor Chris Hemsworth. 

He has also appeared in TV shows including Arrow.

One of his more recent roles is that of Uncle Phil on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot - Bel-Air.

Amy Guy

Born: December 21, 1983

Amy Guy was a model and was crowned Miss Wales in 2004 and Miss United Kingdom in 2005.

Guy also won the title Miss World Sport at the Miss World 2004 competition.

Outside of modelling she has represented Wales on five consecutive occasions in horse riding, and was a member of the Great British Team. 

Guy also appeared in series 10 of Gladiators where she was the Gladiator Siren.

Andy Scott

Born: June 30, 1949

Welsh musician and songwriter Andy Scott is best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist in the band Sweet.

Sweet brought the music world some massive songs including Ballroom Blitz and Fox on the Run.

Robbie Savage

Born: October 18, 1974

Former Welsh International Footballer, Robbie Savage also hails from Wrexham. 

Savage made 39 appearances for Wales from 1995 to 2004 scoring two goals. 

He also played for clubs including Leicester City (172 appearances), Birmingham City (82), Blackburn Rovers (76) and Derby County (124).

He was on the Manchester United list from 1993 to 1994 but never played a game for the club.

He is now a football pundit and director of football at Northern Premier League club Macclesfield.

David Bower

Born: 1969

David Bower is best now for playing David in the popular British rom-com movie - Four Weddings and Funeral, featuring alongside the likes of Hugh Grant and Rowan Atkinson.

He has also appeared on television shows including Casualty.
