MUSIC lovers in Wrexham are being offered the chance to see two of Wales’s best choirs for the price of one.
Rhos Male Voice Choir and Cantorion Rhos – a mixed choir – are putting on a joint concert “Summertime in the city” on Saturday, July 1, at 7pm.
The concert is being held at Trinity Church, King Street, Wrexham.
The two choirs will be performing a number of items together including the ever-popular Speed Your Journey – the chorus of the Hebrew slaves from Verdi’s Nabucco, and Welsh favourite Calon Lan.
The other joint pieces will be Robat Arwyn’s Benedictus, and Cy Coleman’s Rhythm of Life.

Among the items to be sung by Cantorion Rhos are the Johannes Brahms lullaby Wiegenlied, and William Byrd’s Ave Verum Corpus.
Tickets cost £10 with children under 16 admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.
Paul Scott, secretary of Rhos Male Voice Choir, said: “We were delighted to be asked to join Cantorion Rhos for this concert. It is remarkable that a village like Rhos should have two choirs of such high quality.
“We are really looking forward to singing with Cantorion Rhos.”
