• Park CP School, Llay
THE Wrexham primary school has received £500 funding from a local home builder for new forest school resources.
Park Community Primary was awarded the funds by Anwyl Homes, who are building close to the school at the Maes-y-Rhedyn development, off Straight Mile Road.
Headteacher Rebecca Billington said: "We're working on several improvements to our school's outdoor learning areas. Expanding the resources and tools on offer in our forest school is one of the ways we're helping children to build practical skills and learn about nature.

"Anwyl's generous donation has been used to buy gardening and woodwork tools, and the children have already been making great use of these. We use the forest school all year round, and even more so though the summer months, when being outdoors can really help boost learning."
Graeme Gibb, sales director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: "We're really pleased to support Park Community Primary enhance their forest school provision. The school has created a brilliant place for children to gain a greater understanding of wildlife and build on their practical skills, like woodwork and upcycling."
• Ysgol Ty Ffynnon, Deeside
Children from Year 5 took part in a cricket festival hosted by Criced Cymru and despite the really hot weather, all of the children who took part had a great time and were very enthusiastic to share their experiences when they returned to school.
The children who took part were a credit to the school, which is proud of their achievement.
• The Maelor School, Penley
The school recently held its annual art show, celebrating work from GCSE, AS and A level classes.
The evening was a fantastic success, with a wide range of visitors enjoying the outstanding creative work pupils have produced over the past year.
One spectator commented how the art department is clearly the heartbeat of the school, that sets a tone for the high standard of creativity the school as to offer.
• Ysgol Rhiwabon, Wrexham
The school has held its first uniform swap shop event, which saw parents dropping off or picking up free uniform.
Private appointments for parents to call into school also available for those who couldn’t make it.
Paddy Bingham, assistant headteacher said: “I think this will become a termly event as the feedback we received was very positive.
“People seemed to think this was a good idea in these times and was well supported.”
There was also plenty of fun had at urdd workshops.
The focus of the workshops was teamwork, and learners enjoyed competing to complete activities in the quickest time.
Students heard many Welsh words and phrases during the sessions and were introduced to several new Welsh words.
The school is also hosting their summer open celebration evening this month.
All are welcome to attend on Thursday, June 29, from 6.15pm-8pm.
• St Mary's Brymbo
Here are somethings that have been happening lately at St Mary's Brymbo. We are hoping to be featured in the Leader Live school report section.
KS2 at the Wrexham primary school have been doing wellbeing clubs every Friday afternoon for the past two terms.
Clubs are chosen by the children - crochet, Lego club, gardening, games club, cooking, art club and sailing. The group change every half term so the children can change groups.
Foundation Learning (Dosbarth Chirk and Powys) have enjoyed creating artwork inspired by Welsh artists and held an art gallery morning, inviting parents into school to view the work displayed.
They have also held an engineering morning creating structures inspired by the Seven Wonders of Wales.
