A WREXHAM police inspector has welcomed news that McDonald's is opening a delivery kitchen in the area.
The Leader reported on Tuesday that the delivery kitchen is opening at a unit on Rhosddu Industrial Estate this summer.
It won't be open to the public, but instead assist with McDonald's deliveries. They focus solely on delivery, preparing food once an order arrives via a delivery app or an online ordering system. Once the meal is ready, drivers collect it for delivery.
And inspector Luke Hughes, of the Wrexham City policing team, has welcomed the news.

He said: "I'm also really quite excited about what had been reported in the local media in relation to the proposed 'delivery kitchen' of a certain fast-food restaurant moving out of the city centre.
"When that venue was built on Regent Street it was never anticipated it would turn into one of the top five busiest delivery locations in the county (or so I am advised). So to be able to divert all that traffic away from the city centre means it will be far less congested and surely will also be far better for the delivery drivers themselves.
"It’s a great result and I’m grateful to all those involved in pushing this forward, thank you."
