A ONCE-popular competition which has been running in a Wrexham village for over 20 years could be lost, due to 'dwindling numbers'.
Cefn Community Council has been hosting its 'Community In Bloom' event since the early 2000's.
The gardening competition invites residents to enter their gardens for a chance to win a prize or two.
Among this year's categories are 'Best small garden', 'Best large garden' and 'Best community garden'.
But, the community council says it fears that the competition could soon be lost unless more entries are received.
A spokesperson said that the numbers for last year's event were 'down on previous years'.

This year's Community In Bloom takes place on July 13 and the council is urging residents to enter before the closing date of July 7.
The council has said that this will sadly be the last event of its kind if they do not receive many entries.
The spokepserson for Cefn Community Council added: "Our competition has been going for over 20 years, but the numbers last year were down on previous years.
"We have been struggling to get anyone to enter, so we as a council have decided that this will be the last year if we do not get the numbers this time around.
"In previous years, we've had as many as 20 gardens enter, but these numbers have dwindled. So, we are trying to boost the numbers back up again, or it will be cancelled."
