THE OWNER of a pub with an unusual name says it enjoyed a 'rammed' first weekend and quashed rumours that Wrexham's star owners had taken over at the venue.
The Dog and Pickle - previously known as the Nag's Head - is located on Chester Road in Lavister.
It has remained empty since around last September, but was officially given its new lease of life on Saturday, June 10.
Its owner had originally remained anonymous, which led to rumours circulating on social media that Wrexham AFC co-chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney had bought the venue.
That was mainly due to other rumours claiming that Deadpool star Reynolds had bought a house in the Marford area - speculation which he himself later put an end to.
Now, as he's named for the first time, the pub's real owner - Steve Lewis - has put an end to any false rumours and revealed just how well the opening day turned out.

Speaking to the Leader, Steve said that questions had been raised over the owners.
Asked about whether or not the rumours of Hollywood stars being involved contributed to the pub enjoying a very successful opening day, he said: "No, I don't think so, the locals here knew what was going on and it was great to see so many familiar faces here on the opening day.
"We had seen that rumours had been spreading on social media, but people who actually turned up here knew who I was."
Steve added: "It was a nice and busy day for us here, it was rammed. We had much more people than we first expected and we're very grateful for that.

"The beer garden was full and it was all even better than we expected, to be honest."
Steve says that re-furbishments are now ongoing at the family-run pub to fully complete its new look.
He added: "We will be done with that in a maximum of two months time and ready for the summer.
"We are currently open five days a week from Wednesday to Sunday and we're doing Sunday roasts too."
