It’s ‘beer garden’ season and al fresco dining is on the rise these summer months, so here’s where you may want to visit in Wrexham.
The Leader has scoured TripAdvisor for some of the top-rated eateries across the county that have outdoor dining available.
Here are the top ten in Wrexham, correct at the time of writing:
The Boat Inn, Erbistock
This 17th Century Riverside pub has got a TripAdvisor score of four and a half out of five.
Details on TripAdvisor say:" Recently reopened after 7 months of renovation and refurbishment. Specialising in game, seafood and spice alongside all the pub classics we aren't just a place to eat freshly cooked food, we now have a much larger bar area for those that just fancy a beer or a glass of wine while meeting friends or recovering from a good walk along the river. Dogs will of course be welcome in most areas."
Cleopatra's Coffee Shop & Bistro, Holt
This cozy coffee shop/ bistro has a TripAdvisor score of four and a half out of five.
They specialise in local cuisine, African, Cafe, Mediterranean, British, and international cuisine.

The Beeches, Gresford
This popular pub/restaurant on Chester Road got a four out of five score on TripAdvisor and has nearby accommodations.
They serve local cask ales and sell British dishes.
They currently have 1,587 reviews on TripAdvisor with 883 of them rating it as "excellent".
The Golden Lion Rossett
Just down the road from The Beeches, this restaurant got a score of four and a half out of five on Tripadvisor.
Also on Chester Road, the restaurant has 666 "excellent" reviews on the website.
On top of having a full bar, the restaurant serves British food and is known for its Sunday lunch.
Lisbon Tapas Restaurant
Found in the centre of Wrexham, this restaurant specialises in Mediterranean, European, Portuguese cuisine and scored a five out of five on TripAdvisor. There is a small outdoor seating area just beside St Giles Church.
Details of the restaurant say: "Genuine recipes prepared and cooked daily with the best imported from Portugal. We also highlight our excellent Portuguese wines and beers, Welcome to Lisbon."
Nags Head
This British pub, also in the centre of Wrexham, has an outdoor area ready for the sun.
The pub received 343 "excellent" reviews on the website and scored a four and a half out of five on TripAdvisor.

The Dog and Pickle
This newly opened British restaurant has received a four and a half out of five on TripAdvisor.
Located in Lavister, on Chester Road, the pub was previously known as the 'Nags Head'.
It was reopened on June 10, 2023 and has already made the top ten on TripAdvisor.
Cross Foxes, Erbistock
This British pub has stunning views and is set for the sun.
They scored a four and a half out of five on TripAdvisor and reviewers left 448 excellent reviews online.

Pant Yr Ochain, Gresford
This manor house restaurant overlooks a lake and has a big outdoor seating area.
Selling British food, the restaurant has 747 "excellent" reviews.
They also scored a four out of five on TripAdvisor.
Squire Yorke
This classic family pub on Sontley Road, sits just in the centre of Wrexham, and is in close proximity of Erddig.
It scored a four out of five on TripAdvisor and has proven popular in the local community.
The pub is particularly popular for its carvery.
