AN award-winning micro brewery based in Wrexham, has added more accolades to their collection.

Magic Dragon Brewing, at The Plassey Holiday Park in Eyton, took home silver in the cask session pale ale at the SIBA Wales & West Independent Beer Awards, at the Ludlow Spring Fair last month.

The Green One is described as a 'refreshing Citra hopped, session pale ale, with grapefruit, lemon notes and a slight citrus aroma'.

Richard Naisby, SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) chairman said: "Judges had a tough job separating the pack as the standard was extremely high once again. The winners from the SIBA competition are officially the best independent cask beers in the Wales and West region, something brewers should be extremely proud of."

The SIBA Wales & West Independent Beer Awards judge a huge range of beers across a number of styles in the keg competition. As the awards are judged mostly by brewers, industry experts and beer journalists, they are very much seen as the prestigious 'brewers' choice awards' by the industry.

Richard Lever, from Magic Dragon Brewing, added: "It's great to win an award for the Green One pale ale as it's such a fantastic session ale and goes down very well in our bar. The award for overall best bottle label award, also for the Green One, was such a surprise as it's a new award."

Magic Dragon Brewing started in 2017, and produces top quality cask ales, craft beer and lager all traditionally brewed on site. The brewery also has a bar on Charles Street in the centre of Wrexham.
