A MOLD bakery is doing its bit to help Flintshire foodbank.

Cravin', located at the Daniel Owen precinct in Mold has this year gone from strength to strength celebrating four years in business, scooping the title of 'Business of the Year' at the Mold Community Awards, and is currently up for nomination at the Food Awards Wales 2023.

Now, the popular Mold bakery's attention has turned to giving back to its local community following the announcement that they will be setting up a drop-off point to encourage the community to help with supplies for the foodbank.

It comes as last month, The Leader reported on the foodbank's plea to residents as they conceded to being 'desperately low on stock'.

In a post on their social media, Cravin', owned by Luke and Jamie Lee Anderson said: "Flintshire Foodbank is seeing an increased demand for services and only expects it to become greater.

"The foodbank has seen a 22 percent increase during this year, in comparison to the last two years, which now leaves them in a position with more food going out than what is coming in.

"We would like to help in any way we can, and so have decided to become a drop-off point for locals who may be in a position to help. Whether that be one tin of beans or a whole food parcel.

"I will set up a little table in the shop for any drop-offs you will be willing to donate and over the next few weeks will be taking them to the food banks across Mold.

"We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why local food banks provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis.

"Can our Cravers work together to combat poverty and hunger across Mold/Flintshire?"
