MEMBERS of the public are being encouraged to consider joining coastguard rescue teams.
Flint Coastguard Rescue Team issued an appeal for volunteers on Monday morning.
A spokesman for the team explained: "HM Coastguard is the UK’s 999 Maritime and Coastal Emergency Service.
"Our Coastguard Rescue Service is made up of volunteers who carry out rescues and help those in distress around our coast.
"As a Coastguard Rescue Officer, you could be involved in a range of situations, from mud, cliff and water rescues to searches for missing people.

"As a volunteer you will not be paid. You can claim a small amount for your time and expenses.
"Volunteering with us is a rewarding role that supports and gives back to your local community. You can make a real difference and help to save lives."
For more information about the Coastguard Rescue Service, visit www.hmcoastguard.uk/volunteer or to request an application form, e-mail area15@mcga.gov.uk by Friday, June 30 and include your name, age, current address and contact number.
Applicants are also asked to specify which Coastguard Rescue Team they have an interest in joining in their local area.
They will then be sent an application form.
