WREXHAM Council has responded to concerns over what appears to be recording equipment on a lamp post.
Residents living on Ffordd Dyfed in Rhosnesni have raised concerns about the equipment - which appeared on a lamp post on the road in recent days.
One resident said: "No one knows what it is, the council don’t know anything about it.
"There are children, vulnerable, elderly and disabled people who live in the street and no one was informed about it."
A Wrexham Council spokesperson said: "We have no specific knowledge of this however it does look very much like an environmental noise meter with the microphone.
"We are unaware of who may be carrying out noise monitoring in the area but this is routine practice for collection of data on traffic noise, environmental noise with respect to noise management (say of road traffic noise) or future development requiring planning permissions that may require to be submitted with a noise impact assessment.”
