A FUNDRAISER has been set up with the hope of turning an Argentinian Wrexham fan's dream into a reality.
Several Wrexham fans have recently heard of the tale of David Mardones, who hails from the city of Trelew in Patagonia.
That part of Argentina is, of course, known for its large Welsh-speaking community.
David became a fan of Wrexham in 2019 following a conversation with some locals on Facebook.
He is now said to be fundraising in his community for his trip to the north Wales city in the near future.
But, as well as the very lengthy trip of more than 7,000 miles in front of him, the journey itself would no doubt prove to also be very expensive.
As such, some kind-hearted Wrexham fans have set up a fundraiser in order to help David out.

After hearing of David's ambitions, Pete Howell decided to set up the JustGiving page along with the chair of the Gwersyllt Reds Supporters group, Paul Jones.
A statement from the pair on the fundraising page, reads: "A Wrexham fan from Argentina's Welsh-speaking area of Patagonia is desperate to get to the Racecourse next season.
"David Mardones has been in love with Wales' oldest football team since 2019 - before the club's Hollywood takeover by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
"David's only problem? He'll have to travel more than 7,000 miles (11,265 km) to get to a game.

"The process that led to David becoming a Wrexham fan began in 1865, a year after the club was formed, when 153 Welsh pioneers set off for South America on a clipper ship called Mimosa.
"The Welsh-speaking community established afterwards - Y Wladfa - has endured, with between 2,000 and 5,000 Argentines speaking Welsh to this day. David takes great pride in being one of them."
Peter and Paul have set the fundraising target at £2,000, with over £230 having been collected so far (correct at time of writing).
