THE Wrexham Red Dragons got off to a winning start in their seven-a-side tournament in North Carolina yesterday.
The Reds team, made up of a number of former players including Andy Morrell, Lee Trundle, Mark Carrington and Paul Rutherford won both of their games on the opening day.
The Wrexham team is competing in 'The Soccer Tournament' in North Carolina this week.
There is a prize of $1 million for the winners of the inaugural competition, which takes place from June 1 to June 4.
The Reds, managed by Wrexham coach David Jones left it late in their first game against Cesc Fabregas' Como 1907.

After going 2-0 down, Wrexham mastered an inspiring comeback with goals from Jones, Louis Lloyd and a last-minute winner from former Burnley man George Boyd winning it for the Red Dragons.

Their second game of the day was more of a formality as they beat the US women's team 12-0.
Trundle scored four, former Wrexham player Dan Jarvis bagged a hat-trick, Lous Lloyd and George Boyd got two-a-piece and Filip Markovic rounded off the scoring.
There were plenty of Wrexham fans out supporting the Reds in North Carolina and they can look forward to the final group game which takes place later today.
Jones' men take on Say Word FC before their knockout route begins.
