A FOOTBALL fan is hosting a raffle to raise funds for a bowel cancer awareness charity with the help of Wrexham AFC star Liam McAlinden.

Tom Vickery, 31, from Exeter, is fundraising for the Adam Stansfield Foundation in memory of Adam who was a professional footballer.

Adam sadly passed away from bowel cancer in 2010 at the age of 31.

In a bid to raise funds, Tom contacted the star player, McAlinden, for help, who kindly donated one of his match shirts.

Tom said: “Being an Exeter city fanatic, me and my brother Jack thought we’d give something back to the foundation as Adam gave everything for the club.

“It’s been a very special time being an Exeter fan at the moment with Adam’s son Jay playing in the number 9 shirt that Adam also played in.”

Ipswich Town football coach Ben Pugh has also donated a squad-signed Ipswich Town shirt being auctioned until Monday, June 5.

The Adam Stansfield Foundation aims to provide grants, facilities, and educational support for young people up to 18 while promoting and raising awareness of bowel cancer.
