A 'TOY AND Game' exchange event is taking place in Wrexham this coming weekend.

Lle Hapus (Happy Place) is the non-profit community event space in Eagles Meadow that is now run by the trustees of Wrexham Clothing Exchange.

The 'Wrexham Toy and Game Exchange' will be taking place there between 11am and 2pm on Saturday, May 27.

Two parents involved with the Wrexham Clothing Exchange team - Alison and Zia - came to the conclusion that there was a need for a toy and games exchange, just like there is for a clothing one.

They said: "At this time, parents are struggling with an increase in the cost of living, they can’t afford to spend as much and at the same, perfectly good toys and games are ending in landfill. Why not help to solve both issues by having a Toy and Game Exchange as well?"

They added: "The Toy & Game Exchange will work similarly to how the clothing exchange works. Swappers can bring up to ten good condition items and will exchange these for credits for another object at the event.

"Thus parents can bring toys for a four-year-old and exchange them for a seven-year-old’s and vice versa. Any credits left can be rolled over to the next exchange.

"Entry will be just £2. I think £2 for up to ten ‘new to you’ toy and games is attractive for those living on a budget.”

A spokesperson for the Wrexham Clothing Exchange team added: "It’s wonderful how our volunteers are coming up with their own ideas, we’re more than happy to support Alison and Zia in making their initiative a success.

"As we are opposite the playground, we’ll be opening the café for this, offering free squash and if it’s sunny we’ll be offering discounted ice-creams too."
