MEMBERS of the public have been warned of the potentially serious risks associated with using nitrous oxide.
The warning, from the Wrexham City police team, comes after officers discovered a number of larger cannisters following concerns from a member of the public over the weekend.
A spokesman for the team said: "Officers have responded to a report from a local resident regarding the discovery of Nitrous Oxide canisters, discarded in bushes in the Acton area of Wrexham, and taken them away for destruction."

The spokesman added: "Nitrous Oxide gas is often used by younger people and has a range of effects.
"While it is not currently illegal to use, research suggests that long term use can cause heart problems and nerve damage."
