FUNDRAISERS have now been launched on behalf of a young football fan who is raffling off his very own piece of history in aid of foodbanks based in north Wales.
Last month, the Leader reported on nine-year-old Alfie who has been following Wrexham AFC's promotion success closely alongside dad Paul Holland.
Alfie, who lives with his mum in Ruabon, has become a well-known face in and around the area for the 'lucky hat' he wears - which has seen him yet to witness a defeat in person.
Alfie and Paul were both at the Racecourse for the huge match which saw the Reds end 15 years of hurt on Saturday, April 22, to return to the English Football League.
A 3-1 victory over Boreham Wood that day was also enough to see the club win the National League title.
And what made the day even more special for Alfie was that he managed to get his sky blue away shirt signed by the Wrexham players.
But instead of keeping that for himself, the kind-hearted young boy is now planning to raffle it off in aid of two foodbanks in the area.
As such, two separate fundraisers - one for the Wrexham foodbank and another for the Sanctuary Foodbank based in Conwy - have now been set up to collect money.

The pages will be open until June 17, and all donations made will be entered into a raffle which will take place live from the Turf Pub on that day.
As well as the signed Wrexham shirt, there are a number of other great gifts up for grabs.
Among them are four tickets (two adult, two children) to Chester Zoo, a £50 voucher for the North menswear shop in Llandudno and so much more.
Dad Paul, who lives in Llandudno, said that he originally planned to keep the shirt framed for Alfie, who could then 'keep it forever'.
But, the St Mary's School pupil had other ideas and decided to very generously put it up for auction.

Paul said: "I'm just glad it's all up and running now, we're all so proud of Alfie for what he's doing.
"I have to thank a few people who have already helped us. I have to thank Kerry and Will Stonehouse from the RAOB Club who have been fantastic and have donated £100 to both pages.
"I also have to thank Chester Zoo, the Imperial Hotel and North Menswear for their help. And, also to Bernard's gallery in Llandudno who got the shirt framed for us - it looks even better than I thought it would.
"This is all about north Wales coming together collectively to help people in tough times."
