Supermarket giant Asda has confirmed that the ‘Living’ store will be closing its doors for the final time on Island Green this July.
Asda said that the store had been “running at a loss for a number of years” and back in February 2023 began a consultation period to discuss the future of the store on the Island Green Retail Park.
Now, Asda has confirmed that the store will close on Sunday, July 30, and has said that they will try to find alternative roles in other local stores for the members of staff employed there.

The shop employs around 20 members of staff, offers a click and collect site, as well as its standard range of clothing, homeware and other Asda products.
A spokesperson for Asda said: “Despite the best efforts of our hard-working colleagues, our Asda Living store in Wrexham has been running at a loss for a number of years so unfortunately following a period of consultation we have decided to close the store.
"We recognise this will be a difficult time for colleagues at the store and we are in discussions with all of them to support them through this process, we will do all we can to find alternate roles in other local stores.”
