FLINTSHIRE Council has explained why it cut the "smallest football pitch ever".
A photo was shared on social media on Wednesday of a small area of grass that had been cut solely around the goalposts of a park in Buckley.
A bemused resident captioned the photo: "I suppose a tiny piece of cut grass is enough for a game."
They said that the grass had been left that way since last week.
Other people commented, with one describing it as "winning the award for the smallest football pitch of all time".

Flintshire Council has now commented on the matter - saying it is down to a faulty tractor that is used to cut the rest of the grass.
A spokesperson for the authority said: "We can confirm that our grounds maintenance teams have cut a small bit of grass around the goal but left the rest long at the Flash in Buckley.
"This was the result of the support crews cutting grass in areas that are inaccessible to the tractor, prior to a breakdown.
"The tractor has since been repaired and the site will be prioritised to be completed by the end of the week."
