FORMER MAYOR of Mold, Cllr Sarah Taylor hit our TV screens last night (May 16) with an appearance on ITV's hit game show, The Chase.
Sarah, who currently serves as Mold's deputy mayor starred alongside Bradley Walsh and other contestants whilst donning her mayoral chains as the episode was filmed during her stint as the town's mayor.
Cllr Taylor, who served as mayor back in 2021 spoke to The Leader about her experience: "The toughest part was getting through the audtions! Because of Covid, all the auditions were online. The first one was just a phone call and then the next stage was an online audition with 10 or 12 other people with the production team.

"Thankfully I got through, so they sent me down to London for the filming at the studios. I stayed overnight, was picked up and then I met the other contestants."
"What's broadcast on the telly is exactly how its filmed and it was over in an instant! I was nervous, my biggest fear was that I couldn't answer any questions in the cash builder - but I didn't do too badly there!
"It was a great experience and great to meet people from other parts of the country, Bradley was really friendly and all the production staff were lovely - I really enjoyed it!"
As Cllr Taylor was introduced by Bradley Walsh, she proudly exclaimed: "I'm from the beautiful market town of Mold!"
Sarah answered an impressive six questions correctly on the cash builder section at the start of the show and ended up playing for £6,000.
And despite not making it through, Chaser, Shaun Wallace admitted: "I was glad to get rid of Sarah!" - a compliment of the highest order from one of Britain's best quiz brains!
Sarah added: "I've had lots of lovely messages saying I've done the town proud so I am really grateful!"
