A WREXHAM councillor hopes extra security will prevent future unauthorised encampments being set up on a playing field.
A group of travellers pitched up on Waun field in Bradley over the weekend, the second time it has happened there over the last year.
Councillor for Gwersyllt East, Tina Mannering, said she has been calling for height restriction barriers at the entrance to the field to prevent caravans from entering the site.
Today, Wrexham Council has secured the gate to the field with a steel safe box in the hope of preventing further encampments being set up.

Councillor Mannering said: "Thankfully and very much appreciated, the council's Kerry Williams sent out Tony Nicholls and Dave Lloyd from the Parks Department this morning to secure the lock with a steel safe box.
"Fingers crossed this bit of kit helps keep the field secure. They have done a fabulous job.
"I will continue to ask for height restriction bars."
The travellers left the field, which hosts the annual Bradley summer carnival, on Sunday.
