BUCKLEY Town Council has elected a new mayor for 2023/24.
Councillor Charles Cordery was appointed following the town council's annual general meeting which was held on Tuesday, May 9.
Cllr Cordery replaces the outgoing Cllr Julia Jones as mayor as she presented donations to her chosen charities from her mayoral year; Mynydd Isa, Buckley Brownies and Guides, and MIND North East Wales.
The Mayor has also announced that his chosen charities for the year will be Flintshire Foodbank (Buckley), 1st Bistre Scout Group and Buckley Boxing Club.

The general meeting also saw the appointment of Councillor Rhian Stewart as Deputy Mayor.
When discussing his election as Buckley town mayor for 2023/24, Cllr Cordery thanked fellow members of the council for their support: "I'd like to express my appreciation to fellow council members.
"I look forward to serving the townsfolk of Buckley over the next 12 months”.
