MOLD'S newly elected deputy mayor has pledged her support to Teresa Carberry following her appointment last week.

Cllr Sarah Taylor was confirmed as the town's new deputy mayor last week alongside the incoming Teresa Carberry who took over the reigns from outgoing mayor, Cllr Haydn Jones.

Cllr Taylor, who previously served as mayor back in 2021, said she was 'delighted' to be able to offer her support.

"I am delighted to have been elected as the deputy mayor. I will do my best to support our fabulous mayor Teresa Carberry in every way I can."

She added: "In my mayoral year I focused on supporting businesses in Mold as we came out of the covid lockdown, it will be great to support Teresa’s themes of youth, culture and biodiversity for this year, bringing our community together and supporting each other."

The appointment was confirmed at Mold Town Council's annual general meeting on May 10, where Cllr Carberry paid tribute to the town.

She said: "I personally would not want to live anywhere else.

"Here in Mold, we have a caring, generous community and I count my blessings to be a part of it."
