Three of Wrexham AFC’s new floodlights are now up and ready for the football season in League Two.
Work has been ongoing at the Racecourse Ground, where upgrades are being made to the oldest international stadium in the world.
On Monday, April 24 the first of the iconic floodlights was taken down, marking the beginning of a new era for the club. Now, just one of the original remains, waiting to be replaced by the fourth and final floodlight.
The new LED floodlights meet regulations that will allow international football to be played at the Racecourse Ground, with plans in place for Wales to play a friendly in Wrexham later this year.

This is just one of the many updates and work that has been done to the Racecourse Ground since Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds took over the club.
Parts of the concourse were redone, the pitch was ripped up and relaid (twice) and the kop has been demolished.
Work on the new kop is expected to start on June 1 and is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2024/25 season.
It is expected that all four of the new floodlights will be in place by the middle of May, according to a statement made by the club earlier this year.
