THE A483 was closed in both directions following a crash. 

Traffic Wales confirmed there was a road traffic collision near Halton roundabout in the northbound carriageway.

The collision involved a motorcyclist, the Welsh Ambulance confirmed. 

Emergency services were at the scene, with the A483 and A5 closed in both directions. 

Motorists have been told to avoid the area, with delays likely. 

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "Due to an ongoing rtc the A5 is currently completely closed south of the Halton Roundabout to Gledrid Roundabout it is likely to be closed for quite some time.

"Please avoid the area if possible."

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 15.52 to an RTC involving a motorcyclist. 

"We have one duty operational manager, one land ambulance and one air ambulance at the scene."

The road has now reopened.
