PAUL Mullin revealed a phone call with one of Wrexham's co-owners convinced him to sign for the Reds. 

The Wrexham striker appeared on Soccer AM this morning (May 13) where he discussed all things Reds. 

Super Paul showed his class as he helped Notts County and Chesterfield fans win £1,000 and he beat co-presenter Jimmy Bullard in a live finishing drill. 

The Reds striker, who netted 47 goals in all competitions last season as Wrexham returned to the Football League. 

Mullin was quizzed on his time at Wrexham and his decision to join the club, which he revealed was down to a certain Rob McElhenney.

He said: "I loved my time at Cambridge and wanted to stay there, it was just a long way from home and when I signed there they offered me two years and I said I only want one as I’d just had a young son and I wanted to be by him.

"Obviously it was a success and during that summer, I was sat in the house and got a phone call from Rob McElheney while sat in my mum’s garden.

"It came up as Beverly Hills and I was like ‘that’s alright aint it’.

"At that point, I wasn’t thinking I was going to sign for Wrexham and when I got off the phone with him, after speaking to him, I could feel his passion and what they wanted to do with the club.

"I was sceptical at first, but after I got off the phone with Rob and he described his plans for the club and how they want to make the club so successful.

"I got off the phone and didn’t see it that way because he made it very clear they wanted to be successful and they were going to do everything they could to get there and now I’m so grateful I’ve done it."
