TERESA CARBERRY has been elected the new mayor of Mold.
Cllr Carberry was elected following the annual general meeting which took place on Wednesday (May 10).
Speaking following her appointment, Cllr Carberry paid tribute to the town which she holds dearly in her heart: "I look forward to celebrating the successes of those who live and work in our town.
"I personally would not want to live anywhere else. Here in Mold, we have a caring, generous community and I count my blessings to be a part of it.
"I am here to serve the people of Mold, to the best of my ability, supported by my fellow councillors.
"We shall try to 'do the little things well'; 'gwneud y bethau bychain yn dda' - to quote St David.
"Diolch."
Cllr Carberry also confirmed that the theme of her time as mayor will be 'Youth, Culture, and Diversity'.

The general meeting also marked the end of Cllr Haydn Jones' tenure as mayor. Reflecting on his past year of service, Cllr Jones said: "My 12 months as Mayor has been a wonderful experience meeting so many dedicated people, groups and businesses that make Mold such a thriving community.
"Such is the generosity of the residents that I have been able to fundraise over £10,000 for my charities which are League of Friends Mold Cottage Hospital, Mold Alex FC and North Wales Bowel Cancer Support Group.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to be the mayor of my home town and I know Teresa will carry on the good work."
Cllr Jones was also quick to offer his full support to the new mayor: "Obviously, I would like to wish Teresa all the best on her appointment as the new Mayor and offer my support.
"She is a dedicated Councillor and will be a great asset to the town in her new role."
Appointed as deputy mayor is Cllr Sarah Taylor who previously served as mayor back in 2021.
