A POPULAR Wrexham band say they 'can't wait' to perform at what will be their 'biggest' gig to date at the end of this month.

Declan Swans have become synonymous with all things Wrexham over the last two years in particular.

The band, made up of Michael Hett, Mark Jones and Ben Jones, has gained international recognition following the trio's appearance on the 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary last year.

And their hit song - 'Always Sunny In Wrexham' - has even become a must-have on the Racecourse playlist on a matchday too.

And that has, undoubtedly, helped the band progress even further and 2023 promises to be a massive year for Declan Swans.

The band is set to open for American rock legends Kings of Leon when they perform at the Racecourse in two weeks' time, as well as Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones' new band, Far From Saints.

Looking ahead to that bank holiday weekend - which will feature gigs on both Saturday (May 27) and Sunday (May 28) - the band said it will be their 'biggest' show to date.

Posting a statement on their social media pages, Declan Swans wrote: "Two weeks on Saturday (and Sunday) at The Racecourse Stadium, Wrexham we will without a shadow of a doubt be playing the biggest gigs we have ever done.

"We are the opening band, what song do you think we will start the weekend off with. We will be on at 6.20pm both nights with a 25 minute set.

"Then, we can relax and watch Far From Saints and Kings Of Leon. It's going to be an unbelievable few days. We can't wait."

The band rose to worldwide fame last year after appearing in the hugely-successful Welcome to Wrexham documentary.

And they will surely also feature in season two, which is expected to be released towards the end of this year.
