MOTORISTS have been left baffled over the Welsh Government's decision to install traffic lights at two roundabouts in Deeside.
Drivers are reporting lengthy delays on the A494 exit slip road onto Deeside Industrial Estate roundabout after new lights were implemented.
One area that has seen long delays is the exit slip road to the Deeside Industrial Estate roundabout where new traffic lights have been installed.
Lights have also been put on the Drome corner roundabout, also known as the Leprechaun, for motorists joining it from the A494.
Motorists have taken to social media to report the delays they have faced and question the decision to install the lights.
One person said: "It was blocked last night, took me half an hour to get from Farralls (on Deeside Industrial Estate) to that roundabout.
"Excluding when there's been the odd crash, we've never had traffic backing up there, not until they started these lights anyway."
Another added: "Wasn’t ever an issue before, it’s been made 100 per cent worse. Traffic is backing up at various hours of the day, not just rush hour."

One Deeside resident said it's taking them an hour to get home from Ellesmere Port every night.
Another added said: "If they couldn't see it was going be a disaster before, they certainly can now."
The Welsh Government said permanent works on the A494 are being undertaken to "ease the impact of traffic generated by The Airfields housing development".
Works include:
- Partial signals and improved road markings to the Deeside Park Interchange.
- Widening and partial signals of the Drome Corner Northbound off slip (Former Gateway to Wales Hotel site).
- Road marking alterations on A494 Southbound Carriageway (Lane Drop and Drome Corner Merge).
- The lane drop on the A494 (westbound carriageway) has been relocated to help ease congestion with traffic merging from Drome Corner on-slip.
The works are due to be completed in May 2023.
