A DOG SHOW took centre stage at the coronation celebrations in Llay at the weekend.
Shad's Legacy Dog Shelter in Mold was delighted to hold a dog show to help raise some money and join in with the bank holiday festivities as Llay Royal British Legion held a fun day on Sunday (May 7).
The event also included craft stalls, a bouncy castle and live entertainment.
The dog show saw hopeful hounds take part in a coronation themed fancy dress competition amongst other categories including Chelsea Pensioner, Flag Waving (Waggiest Tail), Best in Show, and many more.
Lesley Kenton who co-runs Shad's Legacy said: "The Royal British Legion in Llay were hosting a family fun day to celebrate the coronation and they asked for our rescue to attend.
"So we organsised a coronation themed dog show, we had some lovely costumes - they were fabulous!
"It was a lovely atmosphere, it was a really nice afternoon and everyone was very enthusiastic!
"It was a really fun dog show which saw dogs win rosettes for each class."

Money raised from the event helped go towards the Mold based shelter which currently has a long waiting list for dogs looking to find new homes.
Lesley added: "We're very, very busy. We have a waiting list of about 20 dogs waiting for a space. The cost-of-living crisis is hitting people and people just can't keep their dogs.
"It's really sad and desperate, but it's been so nice to do something like this to get out and meet people."
Shad's Legacy are always looking to attend community events to help put on their popular dog shows and provides a great opportunity for the shelter to do much appreciated fundraising.
A few winners from the show were Enzo who won the prize for best costume, Angus and Ginny who won Pearly King and Queen, with Corgi's Martha and Baimon picking up best dressed, whilst Loki the Bulldog scooped reserve best in show.
