RESIDENTS across North Wales have been reminded of the rules around e-scooter use.
The information came from the North Flintshire neighbourhood policing team.
A spokesman said: "It is currently against the law to ride an e-scooter in any public place.
"You can use your e-scooter on private land with permission from landowner.
"E-Scooters are classified as personal light electric vehicles (PLEV's) and are treated as motor vehicles.

"They require MOT, Licencing, Tax and Insurance. They have no licence plates, signalling ability or always have a visible rear light and cannot be used legally on the roads.
"The UK Government "Future Transport Zone" has trials in several local authorities however North Wales is not currently taking part."
In summary, members of the public can buy an e-scooter but cannot ride it on a public road, cycle lane or pavements.
Police can issue warnings and have the power to seize vehicles that cause alarm, distress or annoyance under section 59 Police Reform Act.
