A BORROW BUS scheme is proving to be a hit with residents in North Wales.
The Borrow Bus is the UK's second and Wales' first mobile library of 'things'.
The scheme allows people to hire tools and a variety of different items and return them when they're finished.
The Borrow Bus stocks an array of appliances such as sewing machines, food mixers, hedge trimmers, Lego and more.
It is a great way to get access to a huge range of items, that you would only infrequently use without having to buy individually.
Areas covered in the scheme include Llangollen, Mold, Denbigh and Ruthin and the bus visits on a weekly basis. Each town associated with the project has a shared goal of allowing the local community to have access to shared equipment.
The Borrow Bus scheme also gives resource equity to communities and individuals allowing for self-motivated learning whilst reducing waste and CO2 emissions into the local and wider regions.
The project builds on already existing local work being implemented by the Repair Cafes in Mold, Denbigh and Ruthin.
The initiative developed by the four communities over several years has recently been successful in securing a National Lottery Climate Action Fund Bid.
Gareth Jones, Borrow Bus Project Administrator, said: "The Bus was set up to benefit communities as you pay a fraction of the price to use an item as opposed to purchasing it.

"It is good for the environment as one item can provide for multiple people.
"Plus, it's great for keeping waste from going to landfills.
"The most common item people borrow is a Rug Dr Carpet Cleaner!"
