Councillor Pete Dando, of Mold Town Council who sits on the organising committee, couldn't hide his pride at the fantastic turnout: "This is the reason why we do events and why we volunteer.

"It's been six months in the planning. When we got here at seven o'clock in the morning, we were setting up in the rain and we were nervous, but it's all come good - it's lovely now, to see people enjoying themselves, that's why we put the time in.

"It's fantastic, it really is."

Fellow town councillor, Sarah Jane Taylor added: "It's about bringing people in the community together.

"For two years throughout covid, we were all shut away in our own homes. We have such good fun doing these events and what they mean to the people of Mold, it's really good to get them back on and do them again."

Sarah revealed that over 800 tickets were sold for Live on the Square, with hundreds already in attendance by early afternoon.

The event, which continues into the evening, was enjoyed by all and one which all the volunteers will no doubt be immensely proud of.
