MOLD Town Council has warned about the possibility of upcoming events facing cancellation due to the lack of volunteers.
Mold is known for its regular community led events which are enjoyed by the entire town and beyond. The events rely heavily on volunteers giving up their time to help ensure proceedings go smoothly.
With another jam-packed summer of events on the horizon, including the ever-popular M-Fest and Mold Carnival, the number of volunteers to help make these days possible has started to dwindle.
A spokesperson for Mold Town Council said: "Last year's carnival was the biggest and best ever, with over 7,000 people enjoying a fun filled day completely free of charge.
"This event was managed by a small committee of eight volunteers and supported by an additional 25 volunteers on the day, for various reasons our volunteer pool of people has dwindled and despite efforts to recruit some new people there are insufficient numbers coming forward.
"Planning an event of this size relies on volunteers being willing to support us and without them we will have no option but to cancel the event on safety grounds.
"In a town of 10,000 people there must be 25-30 people who can offer a few hours on our event days to help, no special skills required, the only thing we ask is that you are over 18 years of age."

Jane Evans, Mold Town Council events and community engagement officer, said: “Volunteers are a crucial part of Mold’s events calendar, but since Covid we have seen our volunteer database drop for a number of reasons and we are now at a point where we need to recruit new volunteers to ensure events such as the carnival can continue.
"So we are asking members of our community to step forward and become a volunteer at one of the town's many events.
"Can you offer a few hours of your time to help ensure the events run smoothly? If you are interested in finding out more, please email me events@moldtowncouncil.org.uk “
One event which is at particular risk of being affected is M-Fest, which traditionally takes place one day before the highly anticipated Mold Carnival, which this year is scheduled to take place on July 16.
Mold Town Councillor, Sarah Taylor added: "Mold is renowned for its fabulous events which everyone enjoys however as we say at every event if it wasn’t for the volunteer they wouldn’t happen, and unfortunately on safety grounds we now don’t have enough volunteers.

"It’s great fun volunteering, and we get to enjoy the events too.
