FLINTSHIRE police have issued a reminder about the laws surrounding owning weapons in a private place.

Since 2020, it has been illegal to own certain weapons in a private place, including homes.

North Wales Police officers based in Flintshire have recently issued a reminder to residents about this law.

Neighbourhood Policing Constable Joshua Harries, who is based at Holywell Police Station, said: "It's my aim as one of the CBM's (Community Beat Manager) in Flintshire North to make Flintshire as safe as possible, through education and prevention.

"Most individuals I speak with are unaware of the changes in this legislation so if you could review the below list of banned offensive weapons and if there are any within your home, please feel free to contact myself to arrange to hand them in for destruction."
