RAIL services have been suspended between Shotton and Rhyl this afternoon (Tuesday, April 25) due to an emergency incident.
Transport for Wales has announced: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Rhyl and Shotton, all lines are blocked.
"Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised."
Traffic monitoring website Inrix reports that tickets are being accepted on local bus routes, while Transport for Wales says attempts are being made to source road transport.
Severe disruption is expected until at least 6.15pm.
Routes affected are train services running between Holyhead/Llandudno and Chester, Manchester Piccadilly/Crewe/Shrewsbury/Cardiff Central.
Residents described seeing several fire engines, police vehicles and ambulances at the scene.
At 6pm, several British Transport Police vehicles and an ambulance remained at the scene.
