WHILE the region celebrates the promotion of Wrexham AFC, one Wrexham student is banging the drum of their success that bit harder.
Ysgol Bryn Alyn are proud of their student Mannie Thomas, the club's drummer and conductor. At every home game, the 16-year-old will be found in the University End stand leading the songs and chants that create the electric atmosphere at Racecourse ground.
In addition, Mannie spends hours travelling up and down the country supporting the 'Red Army' travelling to grounds from Gateshead to Torquay with his drum, directing thousands of Wrexham fans into song.
The Year 11 youngster was part of a group that helped set up the 12th Man Group of fans that have improved the atmosphere at the Racecourse by staging fan marches to the ground and purchased flags and banners. He even liaises with the club at meetings to help improve the atmosphere at the stadium but also away from the Racecourse.
@RMcElhenney @VancityReynolds I know it’s a chant..but he really is one of our own. Drummer Mannie is a real unsung hero and is a student at Ysgol Bryn Alyn. He was amazing with everyone today and deserves recognition for playing his part in getting Wxm FC to the EFL#WxmAFC pic.twitter.com/g9pCMffh93
