MORE than one in 10 football fans expect to see Wrexham AFC in the Championship within the next five years.
Wrexham’s win over Boreham Wood at the weekend wrapped up a historic season for the club, confirming their National League title and a return to the Football League for the first time since the 2007/08 season.
A new survey has revealed that the wider football community believes the world’s third-oldest professional club will continue to climb the football pyramid.
Over 1 in 10 (13%) football fans believe Wrexham will be playing in the Championship in the next five years, while 1 in 20 (5%) expect to see the club in the Premier League in the same timeframe.

The survey was commissioned by sports travel company Sportsbreaks.com.
It also revealed many football fans have a soft spot for Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s club, with 85% saying they see AFC Wrexham’s ascension to the upper echelons of English football as a positive for the game.
