A WELSH footballing legend has made a 'significant contribution' to help a Wrexham-based club improve its home ground.

Ruabon Rovers currently play in the North East Wales Football League's Championship Division.

Currently second in the league table, Rovers are on a quest for promotion and with that comes the need to upgrade their home ground at The Rec.

As such, a fundraiser has recently been set up to help collect money towards improvements.

The club has just recently begun works to install a crowd barrier on site, something which is needed in order to play in tier four should promotion be achieved.

And their bid to raise money has been boosted further by a former Wales international and Ruabon native.
