THEFTS, an intoxicated man urinating in broad daylight and youth disorder at a bus station are amongst the issues dealt with by police in Wrexham on Tuesday.

In his daily roundup of policing activities, Wrexham Inspector Luke Hughes confirmed crime remains low at present, 31.2 per cent down year to date - with retail crime being down considerably.

Amongst the incidents police dealt with on Tuesday, there was a theft from a large DIY store at the Border Retail Park.

Insp Hughes said the incident happened overnight and saw the theft of a 25 metre roll of astro turf.

In the afternoon, a man was dealt with by way of an out-of-court disposal for urinating and being disorderly in High Street/York Street.

The Inspector said: "[The] intoxicated male, who quite frankly should know better, [was] being disorderly and urinating in the street in broad daylight. I’ve said it before – put it away, no one wants to see it. Get some shame."

In the evening there were two shopliftings reported - at Border Retail Park and Plas Coch.

Insp Hughes said these were not related and CCTV is to be reviewed.

And there were "issues" at Wrexham Bus Station at around 7.30pm, which the Inspector said will be followed up with arrests.

He added: "If you caused issues within last night, I really don’t expect to see you again any time soon unless it's on our terms. Parents – still issues with a very small number of youths. Be professionally curious if your children are going out 'into town.'

"Who are they associating with? What are they getting up to?"
