THE managing director of Hickory's says he is 'thrilled' to be able to bring the popular restaurant chain to Wrexham.
Pub chain Greene King, who announced they were investing in Hickory’s last year, is identifying sites it already owns in its estate that would be a perfect fit for Hickory’s.
The conversion will see the Squire Yorke pub located on Sontley Road, Coed-y-Glyn transform into the authentic BBQ smokehouse.
Hickory's managing director, John Welsh said: “We are really pleased to be coming to Wrexham.
"We’ve welcomed guests from the Wrexham area to our Chester, Rhos-on-Sea and Shrewsbury restaurants for many years, so we are thrilled to be opening a Hickory’s here later this year.

“We are still in the early stages, with significant investment planned for the site as it will undergo a complete transformation. We look forward to sharing more details in the summer.”
A Greene King spokesperson added: “We are currently in the process of notifying the team at the pub of further details around this exciting development.
"The Squire Yorke will remain open and trading as normal for several more months before any changes start to take place.”
