A DRINK driver who crashed after travelling down the wrong slip road rejoining the A55 from the Northop McDonald's has been banned.
Harrison Lee Bailey, of Mill Lane Villas, South Kirkby, West Yorkshire, appeared before Mold Magistrates Court on Thursday (April 13).
The 30-year-old admitted drink driving on the A55 in the early hours of March 12.
Justin Espie, prosecuting, told the court that Bailey had been at the McDonald's situated off the A55 near Northop.
Shortly after midnight, Bailey took the wrong slip road - turning right instead of left - heading back towards the westbound carriageway the wrong way.
Realising his error, Bailey tried to turn his car, a Mercedes Sprinter, around - but ended up driving off the road and sinking into the verge.

Bailey called the police to inform them of the incident. Officers attended and conducted a roadside breathalyser test - which indicated Bailey was over the drink drive limit.
A further test in custody revealed Bailey had 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - more than two times the drink drive limit.
In mitigation, the court was told that Bailey had been following his satnav, which had taken him on the wrong slip road.
Bailey had been working as a welder on the railway line in Flintshire at the time of the offence.
He received a £160 fine and was disqualified from driving for three years.
