A MAN who racially abused and spat at officers at Llay police station has been jailed.
Francis Joseph Berry, of no fixed abode, appeared before Mold Magistrates Court on Thursday (April 13).
He admitted assaulting emergency workers, a racially aggravated public order offence and criminal damage. Berry also admitted failing to comply with a community order,
The offences occurred at Llay police station on March 7.
Justin Espie, prosecuting, said Berry, aged 21, was in a cell when he twice spat at an officer who had opened the hatch to the cell. The second time Berry spat, he hit the officer directly in the face.

Berry damaged two books that had been provided to him as reading material.
The court was told that Berry also racially abused an officer.
The court heard that Berry had also failed to comply with a community order. After probation officers attended an address for a planned home visit, they were told that Berry wasn't living at and had never lived at the address.
District Judge Gwyn Jones sentenced Berry to 26 weeks in prison.
